When you get stuck, or things freeze up
This is a computer course, folks! If there is one thing we know about computers it is that there will be glitches.
Now I think I have most of the glitches worked out, but one out of about every 6-10 students gets stuck on a slide or on a quiz. So you will likely run into this problem. So here is what you can do:
- Use the navigation sidebar (usually on the left). You can navigate ahead with this menu. Use this only when the “next” button fails to materialize. Remember–you need to spend the required time on each slide –otherwise no credit. So minimize your use of the navigation menu to skip ahead (but feel free to move around in the course itself, not the quizzes, however.
- Reboot! Yes –this is the standard advice from IT people everywhere! Just rebooting the course may do the trick. But if that doesnt do it, you may need to reboot the computer. When you re-enter the course, it should take you right back to where you started.
Dozens of people have taken this course, most without any problem at all, and a few getting stuck on a slide or two. No one has yet had an unsolvable problem. So you can do this too!
